Alfa Romeo MiTo and Giulietta with improved infotainment and navigation goes on sale in Ireland

The 2014 Alfa Romeo MiTo and Alfa Romeo Giulietta has gone on sale in Ireland offering customers higher specification, revised interiors, subtle styling enhancements and even more advanced technologies, including the Uconnect colour touch-screen infotainment system as standard equipment along with integrated navigation system.

The interior is thoroughly revised with new dashboards, upgraded plastics and a new Uconnectfive-inch, touch-screen infotainment system with voice recognition, Bluetooth, steering wheel remote controls, USB/Aux ports and optional satellite navigation.

mitointeriorThe multimedia device based on Uconnect, the next-generation infotainment platform concept, is on MiTo 2014 reconfirms the technology ambassador spirit that characterised the car’s first steps.

Available with or without integrated navigation system developed with TomTom, the device features a 5″ colour touchscreen for accessing many functions, the radio and the multimedia devices (mediaplayer, iPod, iPhone, smartphone) connectable via USB and the Aux-in connector.

The system also includes an advanced Bluetooth interface to access extra functions, such as phone call management or reading received SMS text messages via text-to-speech technology, innovative Audio Streaming system that reproduces music files and web radio stations directly from a smartphone in streaming on the UConnect device.

By choosing the version with integrated navigation you have the opportunity to enjoy additional new features: in addition to the built-in navigation developed in collaboration with TomTom (with voice recognition), the system will be equipped with GPS system, IQ Routes (which calculates the best route based on the real average speeds measured on the roads) and Infotraffic system with real time updates.

The Giulietta remains the most eye-catching and attractive car and in its segment and, as a consequence, the styling revisions for 2014 have been carefully considered, with a new front grille design; revised front fog light bezels; new 16-, 17- and 18-inch alloy wheel designs and new exterior colours (Luna Pearl, Cobalto Blue and Metallo Bronze) to further enhance its appeal.

The interior of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta benefits from more extensive revisions: The standard UconnectTM multimedia system takes pride of place in the redesigned, high-quality dashboard, with the associated USB/Aux ports now relocated to a more convenient position in the centre console.

guiletaDesigned to enrich the driving experience and perfectly integrated in the design of the car, the innovative Uconnect multimedia device is available with a 5″ or 6.5” touch-screen with satellite navigation system and voice commands for easy control of several multimedia sources and outputs. The Uconnect system lets you access all the main functions, from the analogue and digital radio (DAB) – in markets where the optional is sold – through to all the main multimedia resources (mediaplayer, iPod, iPhone, smartphone) which can be connected via USB port or Aux-in socket.

The system also includes an advanced Bluetooth interface to access extra functions, such as phone call management or reading received SMS text messages via text-to-speech technology, innovative Audio Streaming system that reproduces music files and web radio stations directly from a smartphone in streaming via Bluetooth on the UConnect device.

Finally, with the Uconnect Nav with 6.5” touch-screen, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta MY 2014 customer can rely on the satellite navigation function with 3D bird’s eye view maps and progressive route guidance or the text-to-speech function for entering the destination address using voice commands. The new infotainment system will be available, on request, on the entire Giulietta MY 2014 range.
