Wipro joins Automotive Grade Linux (AGL)

Wipro has become a silver member of The Linux Foundation and a bronze member of Automotive Grade Linux (AGL). It is known that AGL is a collaborative open source project that is bringing together automakers, suppliers and technology companies to accelerate the development and adoption of a fully-open software stack for connected vehicle services. With Linux at its core, AGL is developing an open platform from the ground up that can serve as the de facto industry standard to enable rapid development of new features and technologies for the automotive segment.

Wipro is a strategic engineering and software partner to many leading automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and tier-1 suppliers, across the globe. This membership will enable Wipro to accelerate the adoption of open source for all the software needs inside a vehicle. Linux-based open source software will help to accelerate innovation and faster time-to-market for automotive customers. In the last two years, Wipro has been developing projects based on the AGL platform for two Japanese OEMs. Wipro is also developing AGL components for a leading Japanese tier-1 company.
