Mahindra is starting a premium technology-based e-mobility service, Glyd, hence foraying into the shared mobility space.
According to some media reports the company plans to extend this service on select routes in Mumbai to company executives working in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The executives will be able to use the fleet of electric vehicles to travel from home to office and back. The vehicles will be available at fixed tariff based on the type of vehicle which would be only Mahindra EVs. Tata Power will be providing the charging infrastructure.
The vehicles will be powered by several connected car features such as web-conferencing, curated entertainment and music content from selective partners. The company for this has partnered with Vodafone-Idea Ltd., Cisco Systems and other service and content providers. In near future the automaker plans to scale up the service across the city and then go pan-India.
