Ridlr has partnered with the NMMT (Navi Mumbai Metropolitan Transport) and HDFC Bank to announce the launch of “Navi Card” – a RuPay National Common Mobility Card (NCMC).
According to the company, This open loop smart card will enable travelers in Mumbai to enjoy cashless commute in NMMT buses. The Navi Card can be used by simply tapping it on the ticketing machine allowing commuters to experience hassle-free mobility without having to worry about carrying exact currency of small denominations every day. Additionally, the card can also be used by commuters for purchases at retail establishments that accept RuPay cards.
Ridlr was founded in 2012 with a vision of a single solution for the transport ecosystem. In 2018 it was acquired by Ola, India’s mobility platform and ride-hailing company.
The move by the company is in the line of Indian government’s vision of one nation one card. Recently announced by the Prime Minister the car aims a single card for payments across all segments including metro, bus, suburban railways, toll, parking, smart city and retail.
