Ridecell has entered into a strategic partnership with DENSO for the advancement of new mobility services. It is known that Ridecell is a leading platform developer for carsharing and ridesharing operators while DENSO, the leading supplier of automotive technology, systems, and components for the world’s major automakers.
The two companies will combine DENSO hardware developed specifically for new mobility use cases with the Ridecell platform to advance future transportation solutions for automakers and other mobility providers. In addition, DENSO will participate in Ridecell’s Series B round of funding, an investment that aligns the two companies to deliver innovative products and solutions that benefit the automotive industry evolution, from vehicle producers to on-demand transportation providers.
Recently, Denso had acquired InfiniteKey along with several key patents and R&D resources. The acquisition provided foundational pieces to developing phone-as-a-key technology and increases DENSO’s lead in developing and deploying smartphone-based automotive access, a critical component of the company’s strategy to create a future with frictionless mobility.Both the investments are the companies does indicate the company’s interest in mobility services products.
