Three GPS based products, a car navigation system, a GPS tracker and alpine goggles are appreciated at 2011 CES Innovation Award. The jury includes media as well as engineers and designers etc.

First one is the Firstech LLC’s DroneMobile hardware and smartphone application for providing ways to control various feature of a vehicle like locking and unlocking doors and trunks. It is also capable of remotely starting the vehicle.

Magellan’s Roadmate 3065 Commuter GPS with 4.7” screen was also recognized for features like free automatic lifetime traffic alerts and Bluetooth technology for hands free calling. Currently available maps are of US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Recon Instrument’s Transcend alpine goggle was recognized for its in built real time GPS data gathering capability. It has a head mounted screen for displaying the data.
