The Swedish automotive giant has released the first set of images of the XC90 SUV with some additinal features. The new model is somewhat similar to Tesla’s Model S in terms of a tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system.

According to Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President Design of Volvo Car Group: “The most striking feature is a tablet-like touch screen control console, which forms the heart of an all-new in-car control system,”.

The new interface would make use of the  Apple CarPlay communications system, which practically lets the occupants access most of the features without using traditional buttons or knobs.

While other relevent details are still unavialble, this new model is expected to roll out in market sometime later this year.
