Renesas relies on Synopsys’ Fusion Compiler for next-generation automotive designs

To accelerate broad market access to next-generation automotive designs, Renesas Electronics has deployed Synopsys’ Fusion Compiler RTL-to-GDSII implementation solution for its automotive system-on-chips (SoCs) and microcontrollers (MCUs).

Synopsys is the Silicon to Software partner for innovative companies developing the electronic products and software applications . According to Synopsys, Fusion Compiler delivers optimal timing and power quality-of-results (QoR), smaller area, and faster time-to-results (TTR) on multiple production designs. Some of its features according to the company are:

• RTL-to-GDSII product is architected with a single, scalable data model, best-in-class optimization engines, and an analysis backbone based on the industry’s golden signoff tools

• Single-cockpit solution for RTL-to-GDSII implementation, unleashing the highest productivity and flexibility for design engineers

• Unique architecture shares all technologies across synthesis and place-and-route to enable unprecedented design convergence

After extensive validation process and successfully realizing the compelling benefits of the solution on initial designs, Renesas is broadly deploying Fusion Compiler to extend the benefits to its automotive design teams.
