J&K’s rural areas to get 800 ambulances fitted with vehicle tracking system

Srinagar: According to a recent news, state government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced around 800 ambulances fitted with  GPS based vehicle tracking system, would be made available for patients in rural areas in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shabir Ahmad Khan, Minister of State for Health, said:’ “People in rural areas would only need to dial the toll-free number 102 to avail ambulance services fitted with GPS under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).’’
The aim of the service was to provide timely health care during emergencies like accidents, with the focus on maternal and child health.
