Mobileye introduces collision avoidance technology in India

Mobileye N.V. is the global leader in the development of computer vision and machine learning, data analysis, localization and mapping for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. Its technology keeps passengers safer on the roads, reduces the risks of traffic accidents, saves lives and has the potential to revolutionize the driving experience by enabling autonomous driving.

Mobileye’s products are also able to detect roadway markings such as lanes, road boundaries, barriers and similar items; identify and read traffic signs, directional signs and traffic lights; create a Roadbook™ of localized drivable paths and visual landmarks using REM™; and provide mapping for autonomous driving. The Company’s products are or will be integrated into car models from 25 global automakers. Mobileye’s IPO in August 2014 was the largest public offering ever in the US by an Israeli company.
Most significantly for India however, Mobileye’s collision avoidance technology is now available to all Indian motorists and fleet operators in the form of a retrofit platform that may be installed in almost any vehicle on the roads, or at the production line. This technology includes Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Headway Monitoring (“tailgating”), daytime Pedestrian and Cyclist Collision Warning, and Speed Limit Indication. Until now, such systems were available in India to owners of top-end vehicles only.
Mobileye is also taking an active role in India’s recently-declared initiative to reduce road fatalities by 50% in the next five years, and is in discussion with the Government of India for the utilisation of Mobileye’s life-saving technology throughout India to this end. Mobileye is also able, via its Shield+™ system for heavy vehicles, to map entire road environments for danger areas or “hotspots”, thus providing planners and policy makers with an invaluable tool in the allocation of precious resources in the pursuit of road safety. Mobileye is represented in India by Chartered NextGen Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Mobileye launches Shield+™ for Cyclist & Pedestrian Detection Technology.
