Maruti’s new eVX EV to have ADAS

Date: January 30, 2024. — Maruti Suzuki’s eVX was spotted testing on Indian roads. The notable feature was the presence of an ADAS module on the front bumper. This indicates that the eVX will come with a suite of safety and convenience features that will enhance the driving experience. The eVX is based on the concept vehicle that was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. At the same event, the company also announced its plans to introduce ADAS in its future models. The eVX will be the first Maruti car to come with ADAS.

Apart from the ADAS module, the spy shots also revealed some other aspects of the eVX’s design and specifications. The test mule had a production-ready body, with a clamshell bonnet, a sloping roofline, flared wheel arches, and conventional door handles. However, some elements, such as the headlamps, tail lamps, and alloy wheels, were placeholder units. The final version might have the same LED lights and stylish rims as seen in the concept vehicle.

The eVX is expected to offer two battery options. These include a 60 kWh pack that will deliver a range of over 400 km and a 48 kWh pack that will offer a range of around 350-400 km. The eVX might also have a choice of single or dual motor configurations. This depends on the power and performance requirements of the customers.

Maruti Suzuki is likely to unveil the eVX later this year, and launch it in early 2025. The eVX is expected to be priced competitively in the range of Rs 21 lakh to Rs 27 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
