Omega Seiki and Ergon Labs join hands for technology sharing in electric vehicle

News, 26 April 2025

Omega Seiki Pvt Ltd (OSPL) has joined hands with Ergon Lab. The partnership centers on the integration of Ergon Labs’ innovative Integrated Power Converter (IPC) technology into Omega Seiki’s electric three-wheelers, aiming to enhance performance, efficiency, and charging capabilities.

Omega Seiki will be the first company to incorporate Ergon’s IPC into its vehicles, initially focusing on the L5 segment of electric three-wheelers.

The IPC developed by Ergon Labs consolidates the functions of an on-board charger and a motor controller into a single, compact unit. This integration is expected to deliver notable advantages, including improved gradeability, faster charging times, and potentially lower system costs compared to traditional systems using separate components.

Underscoring their commitment to this partnership, Omega Seiki Pvt. Ltd. has placed an order valued at ₹50 crore for Ergon’s IPC technology.

Furthermore, the collaboration involves a strategic investment in Ergon Labs by Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Pvt. Ltd., who will also join Ergon Labs’ advisory board. This move signifies a deeper level of commitment and a shared vision for the future of electric mobility.

The initial deployment of vehicles featuring the integrated power converter is planned for the Indian market, with 2,000 units slated for the L5 passenger segment in the fiscal year 2026. Both companies are also jointly developing a high-payload L5 cargo electric vehicle, specifically designed to replace diesel vehicles in demanding applications.
