In fiscal year 2025, Tata Motors achieved a record high in intellectual property filings, submitting 148 design applications and 250 patents. The company stated that these filings encompass a broad spectrum of advancements in both product design and manufacturing processes. These innovations are strategically aligned with key automotive industry trends, including Connectivity, Electrification, Sustainability, and Safety (CESS), as well as cutting-edge technologies such as fuel cells and hydrogen-powered vehicles. They also cover the battery, powertrain, body and trim, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and emission control, among other vehicle components.
Throughout the fiscal year, Tata Motors was granted 68 patents, increasing their overall portfolio to 918 awarded patents. During this time, the business also submitted 81 copyright applications.
