USA: ALK Technologies has launched version 9.4 of CoPilot GPS navigation apps for iOS and Android. The new version, available as a free update for existing users, adds Yelp data pulled from their API (application programming interface), improved ActiveTraffic service, and a variety of app refinements to provide users more than just reliable offline navigation.
Via Yelp content, the CoPilot users are able to easily locate local businesses that have been reviewed and rated by the Yelp community. Once a location is chosen, CoPilot provides detailed voice instructions and clear turn-by-turn map guidance straight to the door.
CoPilot version 9.4 also brings additional improvements throughout the app, including:
- Traffic Incidents: CoPilot’s real-time, flow-based ActiveTraffic service has been enhanced to include detailed information about traffic incidents on-route.
- Improved power consumption to maximize battery life when navigating on foot or without an in-car charger.
- New maps: Free quarterly map update keeps users driving on the most current and efficient routes.
- Numerous refinements throughout the app based on customer feedback, including screen orientation lock, improved type-ahead text recognition, and enhanced multi-stop route optimization.
CoPilot version 9.4 is available on iOS for the iPhone, 3G enabled iPad and iPad Mini, and on Android smartphones and tablets via the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Existing customers can download the new version as a free update.
