France: Citroen has launched the new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso which has a full-digital driving interface. The dashboard is structured around two displays in the centre – a 7-inch touchpad and a 12-inch panoramic HD screen.
It has a standard 7-inch touchpad, with seven touch-sensitive buttons which controls all the in-car functions: dualzone air conditioning, navigation, audio, telephone, driving aids, connected services, etc. The 12-inch panoramic HD screen displays essential driving information and can be configured by the driver at any time to show data for either the navigation system or driving aids. Drivers can even display a personal photo as a screen backdrop using a USB key. The car becomes a real home away from home where all the information necessary to the driver is displayed in his or her field of vision. A new personalisation theme, ‘Graphic’, will be added to the two themes available on the launch of the fiveseater model.
Citroen Multicity Connect
As per the source, the new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso provides access to Citroen Multicity Connect, a portal of connected applications, controlled from the 7-inch touchpad. Specially tailored for automotive use, the portal comprises a wide range of applications to make life easier for both the driver and passengers:
• by guiding them to the nearest and/or best-value service station using the “Fuel” app;
• by enabling them to find a hotel or restaurant using the “Yellow Pages” and “Trip Advisor” apps;
• by informing them on traffic news with the “Michelin Traffic” app;
• by warning them of high-risk traffic areas with the “Coyote” app.
As in news, all these apps are integrated in the driving interface and factor in vehicle information (position, speed, navigation routes, fuel levels) to bring drivers information at the right time to help them plan ahead in all circumstances.
