RealVNC is showcasing the latest telematics infrastructure at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. The telematics infrastructure allows connectivity between cloud-based applications and vehicles; especially real-time interactive use cases such as concierge services. Also being showcased is RealVNC’s MirrorLink Certified™ technology, VNC Automotive. MirrorLink™ is a technology for offering connectivity between mobile devices and in-vehicle infotainment systems.
RealVNC will be demonstrating the latest in telematics infrastructure to attendees at Mobile World Congress. The technology allows drivers to connect to cloud based services such as up to date traffic information, route planning and roadside facilities. As well as this automotive OEMs and dealer networks could use the same technology to remotely access a vehicle’s dashboard display to provide diagnostics and instant assistance to drivers. With telematics services ever increasing, VNC Automotive technology provides the flexibility to offer automotive manufacturers highly intelligent and personalized systems.
MirrorLink™ and Rear-screen Entertainment
RealVNC will also be showcasing its popular MirrorLink solution featuring multiple simultaneous videos, delivering video frame rates with negligible latency to the front screen, whilst streaming different content to several rear entertainment screens. The technology means that a navigation app can be run on the front screen of the car, whilst films or games are streamed to the rear screens, all using the same mobile device. This means the user is able to use just one device to access everything they might need in the car. The technology also allows multiple mobile devices to be connected simultaneously and used on different in-car screens. This technology sets the bench mark and proves that MirrorLink is more than capable of meeting the automotive industry’s needs, where safety is paramount and minimizing driver distraction is essential.
VNC Automotive technology will feature on several stands throughout the exhibition. There will be a number of major auto OEMs and mobile phone vendors demonstrating their forthcoming MirrorLink implementations at Mobile World Congress, most of which are based on RealVNC’s MirrorLink Certified Software, VNC Automotive. In addition to this RealVNC will be exhibiting on the Tizen stand, Hall 8.1 stand 8.1H65, where it will be showcasing VNC Automotive with MirrorLink 1.1 working over USB on the Tizen platform.
RealVNC’s demonstrations will be available during Mobile World Congress from 2nd to 5th March 2015 in Hall 7, stand 7C81.
