It is known that all Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles manufactured since October last year are laden with all the hardware needed for fully autonomous driving, but have been restricted by their software.
Now, Tesla has updated its Autopilot system and it has added some new features and some features have been enhanced. These features can be installed through over-the-air updates.
Issuing a statement, Tesla has said that Enhanced Autopilot now includes Traffic-Aware Cruise Control, Parallel + Perpendicular Autopark, Summon, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward + Side Collision Warning, Autosteer, and Auto Lane Change.
Tesla plans to make its cars eventually fully autonomous through updating its cars regularly. The over-the-air updates had begun this year in January, where cars were given the ability to self-steer, adaptive cruise control and auto-emergency braking.
