April 21, 2014 | Oklahoma City, OK, United States: US Fleet Tracking is set to manage GPS tracking for the 2014 Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2014 in downtown Oklahoma City.
This is the 14th annual running of this marathon, a tribute “to those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever” by the 1995 terrorist attack on the Alfred P. Murrah federal building in downtown Oklahoma City. The marathon is designed to honor the memory of those lost, and inspire the living to greater accomplishment.
US Fleet Tracking is headquartered just outside of Oklahoma City, where this tragic event took place 19 years ago. This event brings a sense of hope to those living now who were affected by this tragedy, and all people. US fleet tracking is proud to help. This company provides GPS tracking and fleet management services to businesses and large public events all over the world including 7 Super Bowls, the 2010 Pro Bowl, the 2011 NHL All-Star game, the 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games and the 2012 Republican National Convention.
Putting on a marathon is an enormous logistical challenge. With over 24,000 runners expected to take part in this event, tracking all of the vehicles, and equipment involved in this event would quickly overwhelm many tracking systems. The US Fleet Tracking system has a history of performance, and is up to the challenge. The integrated weather radar and cloud cover imagery will ensure that the race operators have up-to-the-minute information, and can be prepared to respond to the runners’ changing needs.
