Indian Auto Company (IAC) in association with Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Govt. of India, Delhi Traffic Police and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers organised “Aavekshan”- Safety of School Children in School Bus, on Thursday 2nd of August at India International Centre, New Delhi.
Indian Auto Company organized this conclave focussing on educating schools on the use of GPS devices in school buses to ensure safety of school children as notified by CBSE. With representations from various stakeholders like MoRTH, Delhi Traffic Police, SIAM, various corporate houses and schools of Delhi, the event aimed at building a consensus on the issue of safety of school children while being transported to and from their schools. IAC have also represented their ‘Connected School Bus Transportation System’ along with display of other GPS and Telematics products which can help ensuring a safer transportation not restricted to only school but for every road user.
The event was inaugurated by the dignitaries like Shri. Naveen Soni, President SAFE (a SIAM initiative), Smt. Neeti Sarkar CEO and PD NATRiP, Shri. Sutanu Behuria Former Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries along with representatives from SIAM and Indian Auto Company.
The half day long conclave saw panel discussions amongst prominent personalities like Mr. Veerendra Singh Rathore, Technical Consultant MoRTH, Mr. Anil Chikara, MLO Transport Department, Mr. Shobit Dixit Sr. Manager Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles, who highlighted upon the need for stringent adherence in installing GPS devices and on board cameras in all school buses thereby ensuring that the transportation of school children is safe.
During the event Mr. Anubrata Choudhury, Spokesperson Indian Auto Company (IAC) said ‘Safety of School Children is paramount and we are delighted to partner with MoRTH, SIAM & DTP for their support extended to us in organizing “Aavekshan”. Events like these are important because it educates people to know about the regulations and need for safety which otherwise is not known. Such events are required to bring all authorities and stake holders on single platform so that together we all can strive to enable a safer future for the coming generation’
