This week Aptiv announced that it will no longer provide financial support to Motional robotaxi project. Aptiv's decision which is being attributed to high costs associated with delivering the necessary technology for robotaxi service. This can be linked to the Cruise robotaxi incident in October 2023, which highlighted the need for reassessment of the industry's approach along with cautious and transparent rollout of autonomous vehicle technology.

Kioxia which was established in 2019 (formerly known as Toshiba Memory Corporation) launched UFS 4.0 flash memory for automotive applications. The automotive grade flash memory solutions are used in instrument clusters, infotainment system, ADAS etc in todays vehicles.

iMotion released its iDC High, domain controller for automotive. iMotion is China's second-largest third-party provider of self-driving domain controllers, with a reported market share of 26.2% based on revenue from the sale of its self-driving domain controllers in 2022. According to Merlin(AI assist), the automotive domain controller and solution provider market, is dominated by players like Visteon Corporation, Delphi Automotive LLP, Sasken Technologies Limited, Infineon Technologies AG, Mobileye, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Tata Elxsi, Continental AG, Autoliv Inc., and Magna International Inc.

The Global Automotive Aftermarket Research Report released was by ACMA; prepared in collaboration with Ernst & Young. Some of the key highlights being- vehicle parc in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of over 8% over the next five years; automotive aftermarket export potential to 10 major export markets is expected to exceed USD 35 billion by 2028; and need for Indian auto component manufacturers to focus on building partnerships with international buying groups.

Yesterday's budget had a positive note for EV industry, with government intent to support setting up charging infrastructure; support domestic EV manufacturing and encourage e-buses for public transport networks.
