MPSEDC’s “Parakh” app tracks vehicles at Vikram trade fair

Date: Mrach 11, 2024. — The Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) has launched a new GIS-based location tracking application named ‘Parakh’ to monitor the sale of vehicles at the Vikram trade fair in Indore. This app is designed to ensure that tax exemptions are granted only for vehicles sold directly from the trade fair. The state government has offered a 50% discount on the lifetime motor vehicle tax rate for non-transport and light transport vehicles sold at the fair.

The ‘Parakh’ app geotags vehicles, capturing images upon arrival at the warehouse, ensuring full tracking from warehouse to fair. It also monitors stock, sales details, and dealer information. The Regional Transport Office (RTO) uses the app, developed in just two days. It helps dealers to prevent tax evasion and ensure transparency in the sales process.

As of March 9, 2024, the app’s dashboard displayed a total of 1,949 vehicle sales. The application is a significant step towards digitizing and streamlining the vehicle sales process. A model that other trade fairs and sales events could potentially replicate.
