CSM Tech & IIT Madras collaborate for autonomous EV racecar

Date: August 28, 2023. —  CSM Tech is partnering with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras’s (IIT Madras) Raftar team to create the world’s fastest indigenous autonomous electric vehicle (EV) racecar by 2025.

Raftar is a group of more than 40 IIT Madras students from various disciplines. The group takes on the goal of developing a fast formula student racecar each year. It strives to develop into the nation’s most capable and unified engineering team.

The MoU was signed by Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, the founder and CEO of CSM Tech, Lagna Panda, the CHRO of the organization, Manu Santhanam, the dean of industry contribution & sponsored research at IIT-Madras, and Prof. Aravind Kumar Chandiran, an associate professor in the department of chemical engineering.

The fusion of these two entities is set to revolutionize the EV racing landscape. It will also bolster India’s position in the global automotive arena. The project’s primary objective is to design, develop, and fabricate an electric racecar that will not only break speed records but will also be entirely autonomous. This initiative aligns with the growing demand for cleaner transportation alternatives and cutting-edge autonomous technologies. The united team envisions a vehicle embodying speed, efficiency, safety, showcasing Indian engineering and innovation potential.

With an ambitious timeline of completion by 2025, the collaboration will require the integration of cutting-edge technologies. Moreover, these technologies include artificial intelligence, advanced sensor systems, and high-performance electric drivetrains. As a result, the project will push the boundaries of what is possible in terms of EV performance, autonomy, and energy efficiency.

Amid automotive evolution, CSM Tech and IIT Madras partnership showcases electrification and autonomy progress in 20 words. It showcases India’s dedication to shaping the future of the automotive industry. The joint efforts to create the world’s fastest indigenous autonomous EV racecar by 2025 mark a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards sustainable mobility. This endeavor also represents a notable achievement in technological innovation on a global scale.
